Faces
Vision
This was a piece I made with a three day deadline. I wanted something simple but thought provoking so I came up with the idea of a girl shrouded in nature with flowers and butterflies. I drew the first thing that came to my mind in a rough sketch: a girl with big eyes peering into the viewer or even into something beyond the realm of the piece.
Lion-Watercolor-BetsyG
This was a rough sketch I did for a bigger piece that is 18 by 24 inches. I had to do the piece for Art Class and I ended up getting a pretty good grade.
Nations Rise
A finger painting of an outline of a face with many lines of color which converge in space.
Revelation
A colored charcoal 8x12 drawing of an electric personality.
Stages of Grief
This was the rough sketch of The Stages of Grief Theme. Some ideas I changed and others were added along the way.
Born Again-Acrylic-BetsyG
This piece is 5 x 8 inches on a small canvas. Lately I have also been experimenting with oil pastels. I would draw a face, shade with different colors, and then use my finger to smear the pastel on the canvas. That makes it seem like the subject is either fading away or, if you look at it from a different angle, is coming into being. "Born Again" is what I call this piece.
